ON AN APPROXIMATION IN THE THEORY OF SELF HEATING

Thomas, P.H., 1959. ON AN APPROXIMATION IN THE THEORY OF SELF HEATING. Fire Research Notes 377

ABSTRACT

In transient self-heating  problems the spatial variation in symetrically heated bodies is often asumed to be uniform an an effective surface transfer coefficient is defined so that the analysis of self heatign problems can be simplified. It is shown here how this approximation can be extended to allow for a known degree of surface cooling.
